FRENCH GENERALS SUSPENDED.
INCOMPETENCY IN MANOEUVRES. By McerapK—Piess Association— OopyiisM (Reo. October 17, 9.26 p.m.) Paris, October 17, Three generals in the French Army— Generals Plagnol, Cqurbebaisse, and Faurio, commanding Army ' Corps— General Bussat, commanding a division, General Alva, commanding a brigade, together with several minor officers, all in the Southern Army district were dramatically relieved from their commands owing to incompetency during grand manoeuvres.
One lost count of the position of his troops; another's direction of the Army Service Corps was so confused that the commissiariat broke down.
Three of tho generals fought gallantly in tho Franco-German War of 1870.
BULGARIAN COLONEL DEGRADED
FOR FAILURE IN HIS DUTY, (Reo. October 17, 9.25 p.m.) Sofia, October 17. 1 Colonel Peteff has been court-mar-tialled and sentenced to four years' imprisonment, with degradation and loss or civil rights, for failing in his duty during the fignt with the Greeks near Lahana, in the late war.
