ALCOCK PROFESSIONAL TOURNEY
Last evening, in tho showrooms of Messrs. Alcock Co., Ltd., the billiard tournament was continued, when Legj' gatt met and defeated Martin by 155 points. " Tho game wbb very interesting, Leggatt especially playing T<an r attraotiye billiards, and somo of his short " jennies" produced much applause from the large gathering of spectators. Martin was very consistent until the beginning of the third hundred, when ho seemed to bo demoralised by the break of _46 compiled' by his opponent, who, gaining confidence, gave a very finished display. Tho final scores wero Leggatt 500. Martin 345. Tho winner strung breaks of '45, 35, 27, and 25, whilo Martin was responsible for 28, 23, and 22. On Monday the second round will bo oomploted, when Bowie will play Hickey. Tho, former ia a crack with somo reputation, and his game is looked forward to with interest. (The semi-final draw for Tuesday is: Forrest v. Leggatt, and for Wednesday M'Callum v. Bowio or Hickey.
