WESLEY CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL.

The seventy-second anniversary of tho above Sunday School was continued on Wednesday evening, when tho tea and concert was held. About 400 attended tho tea, the tables of which wero arranged and beautifully decorated by the junior girls and boys of tho school. Tlio concert, which was held in the church, and attended by a largo audience, was a great success in every way, the choir of 300 scholars under tho baton of tho veteran conductor, Mr. F. Billman, acquitting themselves most creditably. The special attraction of the evening was the splendid rendering of a sorvico by tho scholars of tho various departments of tho school, entitled "Pilgrim Travellers," the performers being heartily applauded.

The' superintendent of tho school, Mr. H. T. H. Grave, gave an address, in which he referred to tho recent conference at Zurich, where no fewer than 2600 Sunday-school delegates assembled to discuss how best to adapt this great institution to the ever-changing social, domestic, industrial, and educational conditions of to-day, so as to make the Sunday-school a greater power for good in the world, and arrest the drift of our young neople into an indifference and materialism that is too characteristic of to-day, and which bo stated is reflected in tlm decline of Sundayschool membership so recently recorded by many Protestant Churches of this and the OldjLand. He also stated that it was an encouraging sign' of the times that tho Christian Church the world over was appreciating more than over tho value of the child, and much greater provision was being mado in order to effectively link up the Sunday-school as an integral part of the church.

lin his annual report tho secretary (Mr. L. J. Brabin) stated that tho general progress of the school had been evidenced by the successful development and interest sustained in every department of the work. The roll numbered 500, with an average attendance of 360. Sympathetic reference was mado hy the chairman to tho absence of tho Rev. J. G. Chapman, who is confined by illness to his home. Officers elected for the ensuing Tear are as follow:—Acting-superintcndcnt, Mr. C. H. Barrett; secretary. Mr. L. J. Brabin; assistants, Messrs. H. Hambly, W. H. Heyhoel and W. B.
