Lamps, oars, binnacles, compasscs drums of oil, painty and white and red load, ropeß, tackles, blocks, pulleys, distress rockets, ana signals, chronometers, and a sot of ship's surgical instruments and manjA otlier tilings wero offered 011 behalf of; Lloyd's by Messrs. Johnston and 00, Bidding was brisk, and at times rivalry was displayed by buyers. Much of tho gear went cheaply td tlioso who had uses for audi articles., Two chronometers which were reputed to bo worth 45 guineas brought a bid of 10 guineas oacli,. and £6 Cs was bid for tho ship's sot of surgical instruments. Thcso articles wero passed in« Threo lifeboats brought £21 10s, £18, and £17 resiwctively. Tho Devon's liitf hell was sold for £0 105..' and tho smaller one for £2. A lady bought thd run which adorned tho floor or Cap« tain Caunce's cabin for 9s. 6d.
