ENTERTAINMENTS.
"80-PEEP" TO-MORROW NIGIIT. There is stated to be every indication that the first appearance of M'Kay's Royal Paijtomimc Company in "lioPeep" at tile Opera House to-morrow night will be made beforo a crowded house. It is not often that Wellington play-goers are afforded an opportunity of witnessing a pantomime production at really popular prices. "80-Peep" is said to have been a winning card for Mr. M'Kny for several years past, and is now being played to crowded houses by another of his companies in Australia. Tbe company to appear to-mor-row night at the Opera Houso has been specially selected for this tour, and includes several English artists whom Mr. M'Kay has imported for his companies. A feature of "I)o-Peep" will bo the dressing, which will bn 011 an expensivo and lavish scale throughout. The ballet will present some novelties, a • special number being a beautiful "Floral Ballet." Miss Kathleen Mack, Mjss Cora Terry, Miss Esme M'Lellan, FraY:lein Hortlez, Mr. Bruco Drysdalo, and Mr. Walter Cornack are soijio of the principals who are making their first appearance here. Mr. Bruce Drysdale, who has played prominent- parts in pantomimes throughout Australia, plays tho Dame, "Widow Bumpkin," a class of part in which he is said to excel. The specialty turns arc mainly provided by tho Anderson Trio and the Gresliam Four, and these artists will introduce several novelties, besides some clever acrobatic and hand-balancing work. The songs in "80-Peep" have all been specially written by Mr. Harry Whaite, and lie has allotted tho principals some catchy and tuneful numbers. The book of "80-Peep" is by Mr. Taylor. A matinee will be held on Saturday. BRE'NNAN-FULLER COMPANY. Tho bright new programme _at His Majesty's this week includes vauglmn and Berry, smart Australian contortionists, who aro physically elastic and otherwiso very comical. Tho Bright Sisters and Marjorio Daw are other attractive newcomers. Juggling is done, bv Conwav and Synnott, who play a sketch which they call "A Tramp's Dream;" and the Era Coloured Comedy Four sing rag-time and other melodies. There are, of course, a number of other artists. THE KING'S THEATRE. < 'A drama called "The Pretty Ward" is the chief of tho pictures in this week's bill at the King's Theatre. Other pictures are: "Curing Her Extravagance" (comic), "Sugar-cano Industry (educational), "Pathe Gazete" (topical), "Max and tho Love Letters", (Max Lindor comic), "The Otter" (coloured educational), "Counsellor Bobby" (love story). SHORTTS' PICTURES. A West American drama, "The Law and the Outlaw," is Sliortts' star picture just now. It is an appealing love episode. Among the other numbers 011 the programme aro: "Freed from Suspicion" (Kalem drama), "Percys Wooing" (Kalem comic), "Tim's Littlo Wife" ■ (Pathe comic), "French Naval Manoeuvres," and the "Warwick Chronicle." THE EMPRESS THEATRE. "Tho Crook and the Girl," the A.B. Company's dramatic "feature," and the supporting programme of the Empress Theatre continuous pictures will be shown for the last time to-day and to-night. The leading picture concerns an attempt by a hired "crook" to steal a will from'a girl for another man, but the would-be thief and the girl fall in love with cach of her, and thus causo tho scheme to fail. "The Wreck of tho Tyrone" is a vivid picture of tho big liner on tho rocks near Dunedin. An uncommon industry,. "Tilley's Bird Farm," is a place in Connecticut where various kinds of rare foreign birds are bred for sale to zoological gardens. Tho Edison Company is responsible for a captivating lovo story, "The MeadowLark." There aro several comedies, headed by the A.B. Co.'s "Suffragette Minstrels." A complete set of new subjects, which will -- include some special attractions, will bo introduced to-morrow. "THE PRIVATE SECRETARY." To-night, at the Town Hall Concert Chamber, the curtain will -rise on an old favourite, "Tho Private Secretary." It is some years since Wellington audiences have had an opportunity of regaling themselves with the hilarity and' clean fun which this delightful comedy. The cast includes tho names of well-known and tried amateurs, who should bo quite capable of doing full justicc to tho comedy material at tjieir disposal. The Wellington Gas Company Orchestra is .to give the incidental music. The box plan, which is at the Dresden, is stated to bo well filled. The cast of characters is:—Mr. Marsland, Mr. G. T.
