Two youn'g women,attired in "X----ray" iskirts, on leaving a taxi near the General Post Office, wero surrounded by a hostile jeering crowd, and compelled to take refuge in a lane. Constables rescued them, placed them In a taxi, and drove ofE amid a storm of ridicule. The police were compelled to use their batons to force their way through the crowd.
