OTAKI NOTES.

The quarterly meeting in connection with tlio Loviu-Otaki Methodist Circuit was held at Manakau on Friday night, the Rev. S. J . Serpell, chairman of the Wellington district, presiding. Regret was expressed at the deaths of the Rev. Mr. and Mrs.'Tinslcy. Tho balance-sheet for the northern end of the circuit showed a crodit of nearly £3, while a debit of nearly £4 was shown for tho southern end. Mr. M. Dodds, of PnTaparaumu, was accepted as a fully accredited local preacher. Messrs. P. W. Goldsmith and F. Penn were elected delegates to represent the circuit at the Synod to bo held in 'Wellington next month. It was decided to extend an invitation to tho Rev. AV. H. Abbey, of Roxburgh (Otago) to talce up the duties of superintendent of tho circuit. The Rov. Mr. Cottom agreed to remain another year, subject to tho will of the conference.

Tho annual meeting of delegates of rillo clubs was held at Levin on Saturday, when it was decided to fire for the Fresh Food and Ice.Company's Cup 011 the fourth Saturday in November and tho third Saturday in February; tho Field Shield on tho last Saturday in March; wliilo in the case of last year's tra between Shannon and Ngatiawa for the cup it was decided to register a point win.
