THE STOCKTON STRIKE.
SETTLEMENT HOPED FOR. (By Telerrnpli.—Pr«s Association.) West port, October 12. The Stockton Miners' Union officials and the managers of tho Stockton and [Wsetport Coal Companies' Mines considered the Stockton strike on Saturday and finally proposals were submitted for consideration by tho'union at a meeting to-day.' The result of the meeting has not yet come to hand, but there are hopes of an amicable settlement being reached.
