Mr. Barnet Kenyon, tho new Liberal*. Labour member for Chesterfield, is aj Primitive Methodist and - a local preacher in tho Chesterfield, Second Circuit. Ho is a Yorkshireman, sixty, years of ago, who went south to Derby-i shire.as a working collier at tho agoofl twenty-three. Tho Miners' Association discerned his organising ability, and ha became in turn president and secretary! of tho Derbysliiro Association. MrJ Kenyon is a Justico of tho Peace, a Poor Law Guardian,, a member of tho Derbyshiro Old Age Pensions and Insurance Committees. Mr. Barnet Kenyon and Rev. Jaseph Johnson, superintendent of tho South-liast London Mission, were local preachers together' on the Stavcley Circuit thirty-fivo years 1 ago. All through these intervening years Mr. Kenyon has faithfully' served!' his Church as ono of its ablest and mosb acceptable local preachers in that district. There is rarely a Sunday but ho may be found occupying a Primitive* Methodist pulpit, and ho regularly conducts a young men's class on SundaJ afternoons.
