A rousing speech was given by General Bramwellj Booth, who read sonio of the early letters of the late General.' Mrs. Booth' also spoke, as well as several well-known officers. Tho speech of tho oveuing was that of Miss Catherine Booth, eldest) daughter of tho present General. Misa Booth spoko very simply, yot with thatj simplicity which is profound and convincing. "I will not," she told her interested audience, "talk of him as iny, grandfather, for lie was grandfather to only a. small company of us, but I will talk of him as my—our own—General." Her words wero chiefly an appeal to her own generation, to those who aro young people' in tho ranks of tho Salvation Army to-day. "How great is our responsibility!" cried Miss Booth, in a ringing voico that penetrated to every part of tho vast hall, "for wo are tlio link between tho generation who served under- him and tho generation now growing up who never knew the founder of our organisation. They will measure our Into Goneral by what they see of liim in us. Let us bo worthy representatives!"
