CIVIC LADIES NIGHT.
The ladies' night of the Wellington City Council Stalf Club was held in tho Concert Chamber of the Town Hall last evening, and was largely attended. Tho hall was decorated, and dancing, which was preceded by a concert, was kept up to a late hour. Among those present wero tiie Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) and Mayoress, Mr. W. H. Morton (City Engineer), and Mrs. Morton, and Mrs. It. Fletcher, Messrs. W. H. P. Barber, J. Fuller, junr., and M. F. Lnckio. Musical items wero contributed by the following:—Miss W. E. Young, Councillors Luckie and Godber, and Messrs. N. A. Grant, W. Millier, H. N>. Liardet, 8.. Dishy, It. O. Potersen, O. H. Bengo, H. E. Luke, and H. C. W. Blick. Supper was provided by Godber's. During tho evening Mr. Luko made a presentation of a case of pipes to Mr. J. NortonTaylor, who managed tho local council's football team when it went to Christchurch to play that city's municipal staff.
