'A PROMISING OUTLOOKThe schedules for the forthcoming Afanganui Agricultural Show on November 19 and 20 are being distributed. Entries for all events close on November 5. There are classos for every breed of horse, including thoroughbreds, ponies, hacks, harness horses, light and heavy draught horses. Besides the ring evonts thero aro several spectacular events on each day, including tho gents' driving competition and tho hunters' jumping competition, tho winner of which wins straight out the Wanganui Licensed Victuallers' trophy, valned at £10, besides n £10 cash prize. Messrs. Thain and Company's silver cup goes to the runner-up; whilst tho third horse wins Messrs. Young and Collins's trophy. Then comes tho tandem driving competition, followed by the maiden loaping competition for horses that have naver won a first prize in a jumping competition in a show ring. There are also leaping competitions for ponies under 13 hands and 14.2 hands. The evonts for the second day include polo,, bonding competition, walking competition, ladies' driving competition, and ladies' leaping competition. The first prize in tho latter event is Mr. Ernest. Short's valuablo cup, which is to be won right out, and in this event Mr. Gillies gives a special prize for the best lady'rider in reform dress. . For the leaping event, steeplechase style, Messrs. J. Williams and Company present a sterling silver cup; which, also is to be won right out, and, in addition, the president, Mr. H. V. Hammond, donates a special prize of. ten guineas; Mr. A. E. Campbell gives five guineas as a special to the runner-, up in this event. Tho cattlo and sheep, classes are also vory attractive.
