EXODUS TO AUSTRALIA.
A STATEMENT CHALLENGED,
In the Houso of Representatives yesterday, Mr. Buddo gave notice to ask the Primo Minister: "Whether his attention has been drawn to a monthly summary of statistics recently to hand from the Commonwealth Statistician's Office,, which states that the movement of passengers between Australia and New Zealand was for the first seven months of tho year—Now ( Zealand to Australia 18,860, Australia to New Zealand 13,573", giving a debit to New Zealand .of 5287; and, if this is consistent with tho statemont ho made two dayß ago that the oxodua to Australia had almost ceased since he came into office, can the Prime Minister explain this discrepancy between our New Zealand statistics and those compiled in She Commonwealth."
When notice was given of the question, Mr. Massey interjected: "I oan only tell you the statement is wrong and misleading; I have already looked into it."
