TOTALISATOR PERMITS.

MR. G. HUNTER'S BILL.

The Gaming Amendmont Bill (introduced in the House of Representatives by Mr.- G. Hunter), whioh proposes to grant t.otalisator permits on thirty additional raoing days, for the benefit of small racing clubs, hunt and trotting clubs, will probably como up for its second reading on Monday, October 20. Some members consider that tho measure has a fair ohance of passing its second reading. As a private Bill, it cannot go further at this period of the session, and in tho event of a favourable division it would be for tho Government to determine what further action, if anj;, should be taken in the matter.
