Councillor Cox has given notice to move at the next meeting of the Petono Borough Council: "That tho following returns bo laid on the council table: — Tho number of the oouncil's officers and employees, also a statement showing the duties and occupation, salaries and wages." After a rather protraoted journey out from England the pipes and materials for tho Bewago schome at Petone have at length arrived. A start will be made immediately with their laying down. Last evening the Petone No. 2 Building Sooiety drew nil appropriation of loan by ballot. Tlio successful member waa Mrs. E. Rippon, of Lovin, who draws £800 (two snares).
