TOWN BELT RESERVES.

Tho Citizens' Committee met last evening to consider a j)lan of campaign to prevent tho spoliation of tho Town Belt. It was decided to call a public meoting prior to tho nbxt meeting of tho City Council. Several' prominent citizens will address tho meeting, and a spirited effort will be made to induce the council to formulate a permanent policy as regards tho handling of tho Town Belt and City Reserves. It is intended to ask the co-operation-of the Greater Wellington Municipal Electors' Association, the Chambier of Commerce, the Trades and Labour Council, the various ratepayers' associations and beautifying societies of "Wellington and suburbs, and kindred societies, in order that a strong demonstration may bo made. Particulars of tho datio of the meeting and the names of the speakers, etc., will be advertised iu next Saturday's issuo.

Mr.. James M'Lean, Mrs. M'Lean, and Mrs. M. Waddell, are passengers by tlio F. and S. Lino's steamer Dorset, Which is duo at Wellington from Liverpool oh October 22.
