The rich sand gold dredging area around Nome (which was reported yesterday to have been almost wiped out by a storm) ; has beon overwhelmed by se;i inundations. Tho wholo front of the city is ip. ruins. The'fire is still burning, and the people are suffering great hardships. Steamers are engaged taking off the' victims. Tho electrio power plant lias been wrecked. The citizens were, endeavouring throughout the night to savo their belongings by the light of the burning houses. A relief oommittco is aiding the sufferers, five hundred of whom aro homeless. Four deaths have been reported.
