4 There was a time whon almost tho whole population of Dannevirko used to cense work and go to the l'almeiaton North Show. Bysovcnto six, the Dannerirko Holiday Association has decided again this year that no holiday bo observed by tho business people for tho forthcoming show. Mr. R. Fennell, of Woodviile, met with a slight accident coming down tho Mntaliiwi Hill at ono o'clock on Fridav morning. He was cycling homo from Dannevirko, and when_ half-way down the hill hia bicycle skidded, and ho was landed in tho water-tablo on tho ! side of his head. A few bruises remain ; to show tho effects of the disaster, but the bicycle was so damaged that ho had to enrry it and leave it at a settler's reaidenco, and then walk home, which ho reached before daylight.
