OPERA HOUSE. At the Opera House'lnst evening, tho Hoyal Comic Opera Company presented "TJie Sunshino Girl" for tho last time. To-night and to-morrow night tho company will revive "Miss Hook of Holland," and on Saturday and Monday ovemngs will present that old favourite "The Belle of Now York." "iMiss Hook of Holland" is simply packed with delightful musical gems, amongst which aro "Little Miss Hook," "Four Littlo Orphans," "A Lot of Lazy Loafers," "Cheese Chorus," "Soldiers of the Netherlands," "Tho Flying Dutchman," "Has Anybody Seen u Lady," "Tra La La," "Little Miss "Wooden Shoes," "Fink Petti from Feter," "I Want to bo Your Wife," "Toddle Around Amsterdam," "House That Hook Built," "Violoncello." and the famous "Bottle" chorus, l'ho fuu of tho piece is provided by Leslie Holland, in his inimitable interpretation of Mr. Hook, which ho portrayed with great success in tho original London production, and Mr. Jack Cannot, who is said to be screamingly funny as Slink. Mr. Seymour Middleton, as Captain Adrian "i'aap, lon Maxwell as Lieutenant de Coop, Edmund Sherras as Bandmaster . Van Vuyt, Arthur Lissant as the policeman, C. 11. Bantock, as Van Eck, also Jessie Lonnen aB Mina are said to have created quite a furore in Sydney. A feature of tho production is the chorus and orchestral numbers, which are under the directorship of' Mr. Victor Champion. OLARA BUTT-TONIGHT'S CONCERT/ At tho opening concert to-night Madame Clara Butt will sing threo songs with grand organ obbligato by Mr. Bernard Fage, tlio City Organißt, viz., "Creation's Hymn" (Beethoven), ' 'Tho Women of lnver," a new dramatic song by Raymond Loughborough, and "The Lost Chord,'? which will bo given as an extra number. Madame Butt's other songs are: "Tho Early Morning" (Graham Feel), "Mandoline" (Debussy)', "Leaves and tho Wind" (Leoni), and "Lusingho Peu Care" (Handel). Mr. Konnerley Rumford will sing songs by Hugo Wolff, Strauss, and Grieg, "Thoughts Have Wings" (Leliraann), "Molleen Oge" (Old Irish). "The Jocuud Dance," and "When Childer Plays," by Walford Davios. Tho duet will be "Snowdrops" (Liza Lehmann). Mr. Murdoch will play "Nocturne" in E and Valse (Chopin), and "lihapsodie E Flat" (Brahms). Mr. Carter will play "Romania Andalusia" (Sarasate), "Moto Perpetuo" (Ries), and "Hungarian Dances" (Hubay). The reserved seats and Ss. tickets arc obtainablo at tho Dresden, and in order to avoid confusion at tho doors the ,3s. and 2s. tickets will be available at Christeson's. Tho concert begins at 8 o'clock. His Excellency tho Governor and tbo Countess of Liverpool and suite will be present. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. An excellent prog! amine is being submitted this week at His Majesty's. Tho Era Comedy Four are an entertaining team of coloured artists, whose "turn" has the distinction of being decidedly now. Other "top-liners" are Marcell and Bell, acrobatic dancers, Vardaman, portrayer of "artistic comedy types"; Conway and Syimott, jugglers; Delavalo and Gilbert, patter comedians; Lilly Vockler, singer of popular songs; Schelf's' animal circus; Esmeralda, "Queen of the Xylophone" ; Bryant and Bryant, the Bright Sisters, Jessio Wilton, and Doris Tindall. THE KING'S THEATRE. ( "The Octoroon," which is the "star" picturo oil this week's programme at the King's Theatre, is a very fine film. The thrilling story is magnificently acted and photographed. "Lifo in Louisiana," a tale of the slave days, is another most interesting picture, while tho other films shown a?o woll up to tho high standard of the King's.

THE EMPRESS THEATRE. A powerful detective drama "The Diamond Crown" will be tho chief attraction of to-day'a programme of the Empress Theatre continuous _ pictures. This is a story of a theft in society circles, and 'tho amazing discovery by a girl detective of the identity of the thief. The play is well-mounted and cleverly portrayed. The A.B. Company presented a .pleasing comedy, drama, "Tho Work Habit," a tale of an old farmer who despises an idle life, and persists in working even when on a visit to his wealthy daughter in the city. A stirring modern drama of business life is depicted in "Tho Missing Bonds," by tho Kalem Company. There aro two superb travel numbers, "111 Western Africa," and "Indian River Scenes." The comedy section includes the Edison Company's "At Midnight," and "Bobby's Magic Nickel." 8 SHORTTS' THEATRE. The feature picture in to-day's new programme at Shortts' Theatre is the thrilling drama, "A Message from, tho Sea." Tho story is of a girl who was abducted and imprisoned in _ a lighthouse. She throws a bottle with a message into the seaj and this is found by ail innkeeper's daughter, who roscues her.. The abductors givo chaso in a motor-car, but are "smashed" in a collision with a Tailway train. The film is exciting from start to finish. Other pictures on tho programme are:— "Tweedledum Sticks to the Saddle" (comedy);/'Out of tho Jaws of Death" (Kalem drama); "For Lizzie's Sako" (comedy); and tho Warwick Chronicle (topical).
