Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having oiTcrcid a full yarding of all classes ot cattle and a medium entry of 6neep at their Woodvillo eale on Monday. Ttie domand for sheep was quite up to recent sales' reports, and thcro was a satisfactory clearance. In cattlo an excess of dairy stock came forward, and for 'this class of stock thcro was only a limited domand. Taken throughout, in cattlo only good quality stock were inauired for. The following prices woro realised Sheep: Bat owes. £1 2d. 6d.; ewes with black-face lamb 3 (good), to £1 Bs.; fat wethers, to £1 ss. 9d. Cattle:' Yearling dairy heifers, to £2 Is. 6d.; forward cows, ■to £4 lis.; fat ditto, to £5 55.; springing heifers, £5 to £6 7s. 6d.; best lines, £5 12s, 6d., £6 375. 6d,. to £7 12*. 6d.; bad-coloured two-year steers, to £3 3a.
Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd.. report:—At Hiinataugi, on Holiday, we had a good entry, mostly cattlo, and effected: a satisfactory cloaranco at tho following prices Sheep: Hoggets, 14s. to 17s. Oattlo: Cull yearlings, £1 ss. to £1 95.; yearlings (small), £1 195.; 18month steers (email), £3; cows in calf, £4 to £4 4s. 6d.; springing cows, £6 10s. to £9 10s.; cows in milk, £4 15s. to £5 10s.; springing heifers, £5 15s. to £6; store cows, £3 9s. to £3 165.; forward cows, £4 lie. to £4 14b. ; light fat cows, £5 to £5 Bs.
Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale in tho W'ot/dvllle yards on Oolobcr 6, when tliey offered a fair entry of sheep and a large entry of cattle. Sheep were a littles easier, ftqmpared with late E-iles, and cattle were also very hard to quit.
