SWIMMING.

THE ASSOCIATION'S MEETINC. "ONE MAN, ONE CLUB." The nineteenth annual meeting of tho Wellington Amateur Swimming Association was held last evening, Mr. D. K. Blair prosidod over a very largo attendance. ' The annual .report and balance-sheet wore adopted, and twenty now members were elected. The question of "one man, ono club," one which is arousing interest among local swimmers, was brought up by Mr. J. Stevenson, who moved.as follows: — ."That.tho following addition bo made to Rulo 6: That no member of the club can be a member of any other-swimming club in tho City of Wellington or suburbs,-" In speaking on this motion Mr. Stevenson statod that from indications in tho balance-sheet (which - showed a deficit of £12 Is. 7d.) the club was going down hill.' There was only one thing to mako tho club go forward, and that was one member for ono club. Thoy must have rivalry to make the club go ahead. After, a short discussion, the motion was put to tlio meeting, and carried. 1 Mr. Stevenson also moved: "That Rulo 8 b& altered to read: tho senior members' annual subscription be ss". and tKe juniors Is." The motion was carried unanimously. Officers were elected as follow: — Patron, Hon. John Duthio; presidents, Hons. John Rigg and A. L. Hordman, and Messrs. J. If. -Atkins, J. P. Maxwell, and T. Ronayno; president, Mr. K. Blair; captain, Mr. G. P. Hanna; vice-captain, Mr. R. J. Grimmett; hon. secretary, Mr. AV. Bcaven; treasurer, Mr. A. ; M. Farrall; committee, -Messrs. J. Stevenson, W. Hornig, IC. D. Russell, R. Horton, and AV. Francis; hartdicapper, Mr. AV. G. Morpeth; auditor, Mr. A. A. Somerville;. starter, Mr. A. Jacobs; check-starter, Mr. J. Stevenson ; .timekeeper, Mr. G. S. Hill; delegates to the association, Messrs. D. K. Blair and Shields.
