BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.
WOMEN'S RALLY AT DTJNEDIN. (By Telegraph.—Special Oorremondcnt.) Dunedln, October 7. A largely attended women's, rally, organised by tho Bible-iri-Schools' League, was presidod over this evening by tho Mayoress (Mrs. W. D. Stewart). Miss Stewart/ loading lady educationists, and social workers occupied seats on the platform. Vigorous addresses were given by Mrs. H. H. Driver (Dunedin), Miss Pugh (of Christchurch, travelling secretary of the Women's League), and Mrs. Harrison Leo and Mrs. Cowio (of Invercargill). Mrs. Cowio, who spoke largely of her recent inquiries into the working of the system in Australia, emphasised tho perfect unanimity of all denominations, and all classes in favour of tho system, and declared that, so far from its causing sectarian strife,, it was providing a groat bond of unity between the different denominations.
A resolution was unanimously passed expressing approval of the league schemo and urging Parliament to grant ft referendum and specially appealing to tho Prime Minister and the Dunedin members of Parliament to use their influence on behalf of such referendum.
