Under this Act, tho Government has tho right to deduct £2. per day for every day tho membor is absent without leave, and in tho caso of at least two members who had exceeded this period, having been on visits to the Old Country, the rule had been applied. In one caso (that of a prominent member of the Opposition) the deduction of £2 Jier day would come to a larger amount than tho payment for tho period the membor was, present, and thuß, ho would bo brought in debt to tho Treasury.
