AN URGENT NEED.
i Sir, —Surely some extra, provision is ; needed at Paikakariki to meet the de- | mand of business men who may wisli ; to use tho telegraph system from tho r express trains. On Monday last I i wired shortly after .9 o'clock at this . office for a man at.Ma'uricevillo to call for a letter posted at Wellington. He got the letter one and a half nours be- [ foro the wiro, which did not leave tho l _office for over three hours after I | lodged it. At tho same time I wired i to be met at the stations of Feilding and . Palmerston, and in both instances I had ■ passed through their towns a couple ] of hours beforo the telegrams were delivered.. Surely the'TJepartmcnt can do ' something better than this. It is decidedly amazing to rely on the wires | und tlion find one's money wasted and . extra oxpenso incurred. In your usual r good way I am sure that tho attention of the Department drawn to this in--5 convenience will speedily amend matters. —I am, etc., C.T. 1 Christchurch, F September 18, 1913.
