Rountreo arrived at Napier on Saturday as representative of tho owner of . the Matangi (Mr. H. E. White), and. on being interviewed informed a reporter that tho whole troublo regarding tho yacht had been caused through an unfortunate misunderstanding. Mr. Roilntree is to go to Auckland in the Matangi, but Mr. Roberts, who took, the yacht from Wellington to Napior, is to remain in charge. The Matangi was to havo sailod for Auckland on Saturday evening. A record run from Wellington to Auckland was anticipated, until the vessel sprang a leak when off the coast north of Gisbomo. This necessitated, putting back to Napier, as Mr. Roberts is unacquainted with the Gisborne pilotago. Much interest was taken in tho Matangi while she lay. at Napier."
