Sir John M'Fadgean, Principal and | Professor of Comparative Pathology at tho Royal Veterinary College, at' tho opening of tho college, declared that tuberculosis had an enormous hold in every European country. Tho number of milking or dairy herds in England and Scotland, which could be said to bo free of tuberculosis, was practically a negligiblo quantity. Sir Wm. Osier, M.D., F.R.S., F.R.C.P., in a Canadian by birth, and was educated at Toronto, Montreal, London, BoTlin, and Vionna. Besides occupying the chairs of mcdicino at various universities, Sir William has published and edited various standard medical works.
