TRIBUTE TO DR. DIESEL.

Mr. Ellis, presiding at a statutory meeting or the Consolidated Diesel Company, paid a tribute to Dr. Diesel, tho famous engineer and inventor of the Diesel engine, who disappeared overboard while en route to England across the North Sea, and condolod with his relatives. Some of the shareholders asked what had becomo of tho capital, and complained of the chairman's silence regarding dividends and carelessness to find out the company's prospects. Tho meeting adjourned. (Rcc. Octobor 2,10.40 p.m.) London, Octqber 2. Dr. Diesel amassed half a million in a fow years by the sale of his patents, and had practically retired from active business eight years ago._ Ho did not take a prominent part in tho affairs of tho company. • (Reo. October 3, 0.10 a.m.) London, Octobor 2. • The "Daily Mail's" Borlin correspondent states that Dr. Diesel a week ago bequeathed valuable drawings and documents. relating to patents , to tho Munich Museum.
