' 1 FINANCE OF ORGAN RECITALS. The Mayor stated at last evening's meeting -of tho City Council that the takings at this week's organ recital were only £6. Councillor Mackenzie asserted that such small returns were due to tho fact that the council did not sufficiently advertise tho recitals. He advocated are use of streamers on the tram-oars. Tie present position, ho said, was that the council was paying a man £u a week, in order to bring in £1.
