THE WOOL CLIP.
£32,000,000 FOR AUSTRALASIA. It ,is stated by Messrs. Dalgety ana Company, Ltd.,. Sydney, that, after obtaining os much'information as possible from their. Australian and Now Zealand branches with reference to tho present season's wool/ clip, they estimate the Australasian production for the current twelve months at' 2,407,000 bales, an increase pf 160,000 bales on tho output in 'tho 19X2-13 season, when tho net production for each State was as follows: — . Bales. New South Wales ... 851,000: Victoria 301,000 Queensland 320,000 South Australia 140,000 Western Australia ... 72,000 Tasmania " 34,000 Commonwealth 1,718,000 New Zealand 529,000 'Australasia ......... '2,247,000 It is predicted that there will be increases from • New ' South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and New Zealand, but decreases in the case of South Australia and Western Australia, with a stationary position in Tasmania, and it is .believed the trade will be safe in accepting this estimate as a reliable indication of tho Australasian production this season. Tho exports for the 1911-12 season, which was a record wool year, amounted to 2,537,867 bales. Tho now clip generally throughout the Commonwealth promises to be wellgrown and sound, but somewhat heavier in condition and stronger in quality, than last year. Dalgety and Company, have not supplied estimates of values; but', roughly taking last year's values as an approximate • basis, the Commonwealth and New Zealand clip this year would ba worth over £32,000,000.
