NELSON GATHERING The sixth annual meeting of tho Nelson District Fruitgrowers Association .will bo Md at Nelson on Saturday afternoon. _ Tho president of th'o association, Mr. It. B. Among the "business to be transacted is tho consideration of the following * proposal which will be put forward by representatives of the Tasman Association:—^ ■ That it should be a recommendation to tho New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation that steps should be • taken to.organise a National Apple Show,' to.be held annually at some suitable centre, to bo agreed upon. Tho' disappearance of the forests is responsible for tho following remit from the Stoke Association:— . " That' tho Government should bo |urgcd to do something 'in regard to ' itrco planting, also to prevent needless wholesale' destruction of_ native bush, Especially 1 , white pine, with a view to ' fionserving timber , suitable for fruit fcases."
