Mr. Rudolf Diesel, inventor of tho Diesel motor, disappeared in the North Sea while voyaging to England. His disappearance is a mystory. Ho was travelling, to London to attend a company mooting, and was accompanied by Mr. Cards, a director of tho company, and Mr. Luckmann, the company's chief engineer. Tho three separated in tho evening to go to their cabins. Diosel had not slept in his berth, and it is supposed that he continued walking the deck owing to occasional insomnia, and fell overboard.
