FIFTH REGIMENT.

FIRST OF MID-WEEK PARADES. About 50 members of the Fifth (Wellington) '' Regiment, under AdjutantCaptain Richardson, were present at tho first Wednesday parade of the regiment hold yesterday afternoon. The mid-week parade has been 1 instituted for the convenience of those working on Saturday afternoon, and although tnero was present yesterday only a fractional portion of Saturday's muster of _ |ho same rogiment, it was comparatively well attended. The company left the Garrison 1 Hall for Polhill's Gully at 2.30 p.m. There the first four practices of musketry were gone through, tho company returning at about 5.30 p.m. Captain Richardson, in command', was assisted by Captain Wilkinson and Sergeant-Major Thomson.
