MONTH'S BIRTH-RATE GOOD. A feature in tho vital 'statistics for the month ended yesterday is tho very substantial increase in tho number of births as compared with thoso registered for the corresponding month last year. Usually tho figures rim rather olcsely, but there is a difference of 36 between tho totals on this occasion. It is interesting to noto in respect of tho returns for the past nino' months, that tho number of deaths in Wellington sinco January 1' (605) is exactly the same as for the corresponding period last year.
