DUNEDIN'S DEATH RATE

Dunedin, September 30. Births registered in Dunedin during September numbered 160, as against 143 in September last year. Tilio deaths for the same period constituted a record since tlio beginning of the office,' numbering 101, as compared with 80 in Septero'ber last year. Marriages numbered 38, as against 42 last September. The roturns for nine months are as follows, tlio figures for ' last _ year being given in parentheses:—Births, 1267 (1335); deaths, 727 (633); marriages, 618 (508).
