ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
MEDICAL STUDENT'S DEATH. ,
(By Toleffraph.—Preea Association.) Duncdln, September 30. At the inquest on Rutherford Nichol, a medical student of Knox College, who died as the result of injuries sustained by a fall of oarth while deceased, with others, wa3 excavating a fives court, the evidenco showed that the students had been previously engaged in tho summer months on similar work. Tho coroner found that death was caused^ by shock and haemorrhage, no blame being attachable to anyone.
AUCKLAND FATALITIES.. Auckland, September 30. - Percy Butler, a farm labourer, aged 27,' who was admitted to the hospital from Hunua, with bis throat severely cut, died last night. _ It is alleged the wounds were self-inflicted.
Lawrence Wilson, aged 20, who was injured on Sunday through the collapse of the wheels of a motor-car in which he was riding, died in the hospital last night.
FALL OF CATTLE PENS. Core, September 80. An accident occurred at the Goro saleyards to-day to an elderly man named Joseph Haggart, who resides at Croydon Siding. Haggart was walking along the top planks of the cattle pens when his foot slipped and ho fell to -the ground, a distance of about seven feet, striking heavily with his head, Dr. Rogers's examination showed that Haggart was suffering from concussion of the spino, and the dootor ordered his removal to the Hospital. There was a slight improvement in his condition this ovoning.
DEATH IN THE STREET. Chrlstchurch, Septembor 30. A married man named Henry Medcalf, living at St. Albans, dropped dead in town this afternoon whilo talking with two friends.
