The Billiards Control Club announces an amateur championship contest in which billiardists connected with tho liquor trado will not bo allowed to compete. Virr (the present champion), arid Good, Cliristoy, Lovejoy, and Wisdom (ex-champions) arc among those in the licensing trade. Employed of table manufacturers will also bo ineligible. '
This in interpreted as an attempt to wrest tho amateur championship from tho Billiards Association.
