Sir T. Vansittart Bowater, Kt. (Cr., 1906), was born in 18G2, and came to iondon in 1880. He was mado a sheriff of t'ho City of London in 1905, which office he held for a, year. He is a relation to Admiral Edward Bowater, Admiral of tho White Fleet, 1829 (and who fought at Trafalgar), and of General Sir Edward Bowater, who fought and was wounded at Waterloo,
