During an altercation outsido an hotel on Saturday night, a man named T. Howard produced a revolver, which went off. Another man, Henry Ahern, foil, shot in the chest seriously. It is not known whether the revolver exploded accidentally. Howard has been arrested.

A MIGHTY HUNTER. Brlsbano, September 28. - Baron Nicolas, a Hungarian nobleman, has arrived from a shooting trip in China.. Ho intended to go into the interior as far as the Tibetan border, but stopped because of the recent revolution. Next year he will try again. Baron Nicholas is a noted hunter of big game. He has visited every corner of the earth, with the exception of New Zealand and South America. FATALITY AT FRENCH HARBOUR WORKS. Paris, September 28. A compressed-air caisson at the harbour works at Lorient burst, and sank in ten minutes. Seven men were rescued in a precarious condition; three were dead. INDIAN BANK FAILURES. Delhi, September 28. In connection with tho failure of tho native banks in India, tho Bank of I'cshawur's Indian manager has been suspended. KING CONSTANTINE. London, September 28. King Constantino of Greece, who is now in London, has visited Sir Edward Grey, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, at the Foreign Ofiico. COASTAL STEAMER ASHORE. Sydney, September 29. The coastal steamer Knllatina, 550 tons, belonging to the North Coast S.N. Company, during a south-easterly gala went ashore at Woolgoola. There were 110 passpngers aboard. The crew is safe. The vessel may get off.
