THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications arc for changeable and squally weather, with rain in parts, and heavy rain in the West Coast and southern districts of the South Island. Strolls westerly winds are probable, with a falling barometer, especially in tho sooth, but a rise is duo after about 20 hours, when the winds are likely to have a southerly tendency. Fair to cloudy conditions prevailed generally on Saturday, but dull, weather, with rain, in various parte of the country has been experienced since. The barometer has been unsteady, but extremely low in higher latitudes, and moderate to strong northerly and westerly winds have prevailed. B. V. MMBEItTOiN. Greytown, September 29.—Very close and showery. Otaki, September 29.—Sunshine. Wansanui. Septembor 29.—Light showers during night and forenoon. Fine after, noon. Featherston, September 29.—Bright and warm. Molsterton. September 29.—Warm Irain lust night, followed by fine but cloudy day. Carterton, September 29.—Tlie weather is fine. Rain commenced falling, during tho early hours of the morning, but ceased at daybreak.
