Lowry's colt Soltano in tho A.J.O. Derby at Randwick next Saturday. It was the Randwick trainer, I. Foulwho last woek offered 6000 guineas for Soltano, in addition to half tho colt's winnings at the llandwiok meeting. Soltano was the star performer on tho training track yesterday morning. Accompanied by tho imported horse HalIlowmas, he covered ten furlongs, Prince ''lavus going the last nine furlongs with he pair. Prince Flavus was beaten iy several lengths, being of little use o the others. Soltano, finishing full of running, beat Hallowmas by a good length in 2min. lOJsec. —the last mile taking him Imin. 44Jsec. Tho Soult colt gained many friends by the mantier in whioh he finished, and sevoral of the track watohers consider the gal- : lop equal to Boragoon's record trial a few days ago. , • Emperador and Oherubini were not fully extended over a circuit, covered in 2min. 25sec. j Relievo beat Malt Field by a dozen lengths over a mile, run in Tmin. 42scc. , Beragoon, who was not at top speed fiver the first quarter of a mile, ran ten furlongs in 2min. 15seo.—the last seven furlongs taking lmin. 31sec. Radnor, Andelosia, and Beau Soult ell finished well in separate gallops over len furlongs. • At Victoria Park, Nuwara Eliya. galloping outside tho hurdles, covered about a mile and 76 yards in min. 46}seo.
