Tho Wangamii Labour Day Celebration Committee wrote, asking for permission to include some amateur events in' thoir sports programme which is to be held oil Oftoher 27. —Permission granted. R. Jl'lvay, of Auckland I', and T. Ofliee, wrote stating that. about six' months a;;o he had applied for reinstatement, hut had so far received no word in regard to same. It was decided to refer the matter to the N.Z.A.A.A. , A letter from the secretary of the Brooklyn Harriers Club notified that ono of their delegates, Jlr. L. Cooke, had removed to Australia, and that they had clccted Mr. I'\ Warmiugton, Northland, to till the vacancy. He also inquired into S. Hall's application for reinstatement. The Brooklyn Club are to ho informed that S. Hull, is to stand down until January, 191-1. and then mako another application. The secretary of tho 'Auckland Contreforwarded a" letter received from Jlr. C. R. dc Barry, of Hokitika, who stated that lie yas desirous of starting an amateur athlotic club in that district, and would be glad to receive information regarding the forming of same. It was decided to send him a copy_ of tho rules and to refer him to the Westporfc A.A. Club. • Tho Wellington Rugby Football Union applied for permission to hold a. sports mpotiiig at tho Athlotic Park on October 4 under N.Z.A.A.A. rules. They also asked for a member of tho Wellington Centre to act oil a sub-com-mittoc. Both requests were acceded .For some time past correspondence has been passing between tho N.Z.A.A.A. Council and the Victorian Association relative to the date of tho Australasian championships, which are to bo held at Melbourne on January 24, 1014, and tho representation of New Zealand thereat. Tho New Zealand Council contends that this date is too early, the chief' reasons being that- (1) it is too soon after the Christmas holidays to allow the men to get leave: (2) the into'uso heat experienced in Melbourne at that time of tho year would not givo the New Zealand representatives"! chance to show their truo form; (3) that out of eourtcs.v to tho American visitors New Zealand could not send a team to Australia until the American tour is completed. Tho committee of the ■Wellington Centre last night unanimously endorsed tho views of the New Zealand A.A.A. on this matter. The centre agreed to pay half the costs for the hiring of Athletic Parkon the occasion of the visit of the American athletes, providing the tracks are in suitable order. It was also decided to write to tho New Zealand Council informing them that the Wellington Centre is prepared to work tho two meetings (Boxing Dav and the Saturday) in conjunction with them. The proposal is that half tho expense should be borno by each and the profits be pooled and divided equally. Tho annual meeting of the Wellington Centre was fixed to take place on October 31.
