CITIZENS' CARNIVAL.

MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE. At the Town Hall last night, tho new Executive Committee of the Wellington Citizens' Carnival Association hold its first meeting. Tho .Mayor,(Mr. J. P. Luke) presided. ( Mr. A. A. Paape, acting-secretary, submitted a. report from tho Printing and Advertising Committeo, showing' that officers had been elected as follow:—Chairman, Mr. C. G. Wilson; hon. secretary, Miss Young; and representative on tho executive, Mr. A. A. Paape. The Ground Committee's report was also placed before tho meeting, and showed that the election of officers had resulted: —Chairman, Mr. W. H. Morton; hon, secretary, Miss Bennett; representative on the executive, Mr. W. H. Morton; printing and advertising officer, Councillor G. Frost. A schedule of duties of secretary was submitted by the acting-secretary, and agreed to with slight amendments. It was then resolved to eall for applications for tho position of secretary at a salary of £100 per annum.

Tho appointment of a treasurer was held over until tho next meeting, tho Mayor to act in the meantime. A Finance Committee was elected as follows:— I The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), Councillor R. Fletcher, Mr. W. H. Morton, Mr. A. Marryatt, and Mi\ C. G. Wilson. After brief discussion, it was decided to fix Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, arid Saturday of the first week in March as the dates of the next carnival. The Executivo Committee of tho association is now constituted as follows:— President, the Mayor (Mr. J. P.. Luk"o); vice-presidents, Messrs. J. P. Firth and 0 G Wilsou; other mombers, Captain Frandi (physical drill), Messrs. A. Marryatt (Sports), G. Frost; (Sideshows), H. Amos (Children's Displays), A A. Paape (Printing and Advertising W. H. Morton (Grounds), R. Fletcher (Concert and Entertainments), Mrs R. Fletcher (Stalls). Three members' added by executive, Mrs. J. P I.uko and Messrs. J. H. Pollock and D. M'Laren.
