NEWTOWN CLUB'S GATHERING. On Wednesday evening tho final of tho series of combined card parties and social evenings organised by the direc-1 tors of tho Newtown, Bowling Club for 1 tho winter reccss was held in the club s , pavilion. There were about sixty present, and progressive euchre was played. Mrs. S. H. Underwood won the ladies' prizo, and Mr. Phil. Roberts the men's. After supper an impromptu musical programme was gone through, songs being given by Messrs. Pankliurst, Powell, Russell, and J. Sexton. Mrs. Sexton presided at the piano. Mr. T. S. Powell, on behalf of tho members of tho club, moved a vote w thanks to the directors. KELBIJRNE CLUB. The Kelburno Bowling Club is to formally open its green for tho season on October 4. Tho following members will journey to tho opening of tho ICarori Club on Saturday next:—Meadowcroft', Baldwin, Macarthur, Williamson. Tho following' players will represent the Te iliwi Bowling Club at the opening of tho respective greens oil Saturday -—At Seatoun—Benzie, Laurenson, Wiggins, E. J. Hill (_s.). At Karori— Crengell, Dixon, Shailcrass, Leighton (s). . '
