Ho slept through the night of March 15, and' walked out in tho blizzard next morning, saying, 'I'm just going outside. I may be some time.' Ho was never seen again. AVo knew he was going to bis death. It was tho act of a man and an English gentleman. On March 18 Scott's foot was badly frost-bitten. "Amputation," he says, "is the least I can hope for.' All the others' had foot trouble. On March 19 tho party reached a point; cloven miles from One "on where there was plenty of food. Scott and his companions had only two days food and one day's fuel.
