LONDON PERSONALS. London, August 14. The High Commissioner and Mrs. Mackenzie have been invited to visit Lord and Lady StTathoona at Glencoe' and Oolonsay, in the Highlands. Sir. and Mrs! C. Hutton-Colnett, of Wellington, left on Saturday for a trip to Holland. Belgium, Germany, ana Franco. They return to London in October, and leave for Now Zealand on November 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Siefert, of Palmers ton North, loft London last week for a motor tour through England.and Scotland. At Edinburgh they will bo joined by Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Price, of Auckland, and they return to London next \veek, leaving for New Zealand on October 2, via America., by tho Celtic. Mr. Downie Stewart, of Dunedin, liaß prepared a translation from the French of M. Andre Siegfried's study of "Democracy in Now. Zealand," 'which will ho published this autumn by Messrs. Bcll - , rr Mr. and Mrs. T. H. and Miss Hamer are at St. Leonards.
Mrs. S. Bond, of Auckland', returns to Now Zealand on Octobor 10 by tho Orama. : Mr. Hector Robson, of Christohurch, of tlio Brazilian Navy, is in England to recuperate after fever. Mr. James Watson, of Auckland, leaves on his return to Now Zealand by the Orama, on October 10 V Mrs. Jcffcoat, of Dunedin, aiid her son, are staying at Brought}- Ferry, near Dundee. Dr. and Mrs. Robert 'Martin, of Dunedin, are in London, and leave by. tli ilarama on August 22. for Now Zealand. . i Mr. Emost 0. Ohivers, of Ashburton J has come over for medical treatment, as a result of an accident, which ended in paralysis. Hiss M. Mr. Henry Francis'Wigram, M.L.C., Christchurc'h is staying at Ormidalo House, Colmtrain, Argyllshire, N. 8., until tho end of September. ; Mr. Sinclair A. Rodger, of Christchuroh, ia now in Loudon. after a five weeks' motor tour through England and Scotland with fivo other New ZealaJider3. ; Mr. M. Mackenzie Forbes is travelling in Scotland, visiting Aberdeenshire, Inverness, and Argyllshire. Mr. Sylvester Russell, of Auckland, after a month iu London, has gono to tho North of England and Scotland, and returns in timo to join' tho Omrah on August 15. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Price, of Auckland, who havo travelled on the Continent, in Wales, Scotland, and Ireland, are now in London, and return to fiew Zealand by tho Medina. Mr. H. J. Farmer, Auckland, has returned to London froni a trip on. the Continent. He leaves shortly for Toronto and Winnipeg. Mrs. M. E. Carpenter and her son Mr. Bernard C. Carpenter (Auckland), aro going to spend three weeks in Norway, and are thou going to Dublin and Edinburgh'. _ ' Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Copsoy, of Auckland, havo com© to England. Last week they left for Derby, Scotland and Ireland, and thoy afterwards go down to the South of England. A trip to Franco, Switzerland and Italy follows, and they leave ou October 24 by tlio Orsova for Mrs. A..F. and Miss Greteh'en Kennedy have been staying with tlio former's brother for somo weeks, and have since been touring in various places of intorost in England. Tins week thoy leave on visits to friends at Bury St. Edmunds, and afterwards go to Strat-ford-on-Avon for tho Shakespeare Festival. They return on Octobor 23.
