Wright, Stephenson, i and Co., Ltd., Dunedin, have, through . Mr. Robert Allan, Howwcll, Kirkcudbright, acquired some vqry high-class stock. The prize marc (33807) • lias been bought from Mr. D. Y. StcwI art, Carso of Trowan. Crieff. Slio is by the Cawdor Cup champion Ovama (13118). As a two-year-old,mu 1910, sho , was highly commended at Ayr in a 1 very strong class, and at Glasgow, while at Crieff, Perth, and other shows hi 1 tho north sho rose to the top position. A year later she beat all competitors in very strong classes at Ayr, Glasgow, and Eclinburjjh, and she had hard Jincs in being third at the Highland and Agricultural Society's show at Inverness. She came out as a brood maro in 1912, and was only beaten at Kilmarnock by tho champion Anicei (26893), while at Ayr, Glasgow, and Edinburgh sho was also second, her more successful opponent on these occasions being the celebrated Cawdor Cup champion, Boquhani Ladv Peggy, one of tho most, distinguisfled females ever exhibited in Scotland. At tho Highland Show at Cupar In 1912 she was fourth in one of the most superb classes of brood marcs over seen at the National Show. This year, again, sho was well up at tlio leading, shows. • . _ Moireen is being accompanied by her beautiful filly foal by tho £9500 Baron of Buchlyvie. The Duncdin firm have also obtained from Mr. James Picken, Torrs, Kirkcudbright, the mare Peach Blossom (34405). She is by Royal Bounty (10373), a son of the celebrated double champion, Princo of Carruchan (8151), and! is out of a- dam by the Cleveland premium horse Neil Gow (10244). Peach Blossom has been a. noted orize-winner, being first at the TJlverston and other shows in the North of England. Her colt foal which accompanies her is by Sir Hector of West-field (15418), a son of tho -four times champion Hiawatha (10067), who'was third at the show of the Royal Agricultural Society of England at Liverpool in 1910. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co. have also (on behalf of a client) bought two well-bred 1 stallions. One of them, intended for Mr. Callander, is British Hope (17147), who, in respect- of breeding and individual merit, is up to tho highest standard. He is by Hiawatha (10067). British Hope is out of Lady Betty (17479), ono of tho handsomest daughters of the world-famous Baron's Prido (9122), and own sister to the dam of the Cawdor Cup champion Boquhan Lady Betty, and to the popular prize horses Baron o' Deo and Baron's Vouchor. Tho second colt is • Dandy Tom (17620), and he goes to Mr. J. A. Dunbar, Alma, North Otago. He is a son of the • Cawdor Cup . champion Bonnie Buchlyvie (14032), and is out of a mare by Royal Favourite (10630), the sire of tlio Cawdor Cup champion Scotland Yet. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co. have also bought from Mr. Purdio Soinervillo, Sandilands, Lanark, for Mr. Charles M'Leau, a two-year-old colt itemed Scotland's Success. Ho is by'the Cawdor Cup ohampion Scotland Yet (14839), andt won first in a strong class at the recent Lanark Show. Mr. George A. Ferguson, Surradate, Elgin, has oeen indiiccd to part with his noted' iprize maro Proud . Beauty (34387) for exportation to New Zealand. A handsome four-year-old mare goes tp Mr. Rodger, of New■ Zealand. - Shaft called Lady Meta (34404), and is by tho great horse Everlasting (11331), who was champion at the shows of .tlie Highland and Agricultural Society on more than one occasion. Mr. James Kilpatrick, Craigio Mams, Kilmarnock, has sold to Mr. James M'Murray, Greeuvale, Waikaka, New Zealand, thefashioiiably-hredthree-year-old colt Dmmsleed Princo (16551). He is by Duncdin (12951) out of. a mare by. Robert Darnley (10115). Mr. D. Ross, from New Zealand, has bought from Mr. Alex. Munro, Rosebra©, Elgin, the well-known stallion Arnagour (16439). His sire was Dunure Blend (11691). while his dam is Maggio Ballinton (14542). CONCERNING CONDEMNED > STOCK. (Br Telegraph.—Press Association.) i Christohurch, September 22. The recently-formed Wholesale Dairymen's Association has decided that a , committee should take tho earliest opportunity of placing before tho Government the necessity for increasing the compensation paid for stock condemned, and also for tho raising of tho ago of stock in respect to which compensation is payable from 'eight to ; twelve years.
