CONSECRATED YESTERDAY,

The new Anglican Church, recently erected hero at a cost approximating £10,000, aud which will sea,t 600 people, was consecrated this motmiig by Bishop Sprott in tho presence of a very large assemblage. It is built in "brick, apd stands in a fino position. Tlie walls rise to a height of 30ft., while tlio top of tho slate-covered roof reaches up to GOft., making tho building visible from many parts of the town. Tlie Interior is beautifully finished. An east window was presented by Mrs. Meredith in memory of lier lato husband, and represents themes illustrative of the Sermon on tho Mount. On tho south side of tlie cliancel is a beautiful window presented by the Vallanco and Drummond families, while the choir'stalls wero presented bv Mr. and Mrs. AVilliam H. H. Beetham.- TJio pulpit, was the gift of Mr. George Hyde, who designed and built it. -. A splendid organ of great power has been installed by Messrs. Hobdav and Son, of Wellington. Inwards "tlie cost of the building, Mr. J. F. Maunsoll donated a sum of ±,IUU.
