Marriage in St. Paul's. The marriage took place very quietly on Saturday morning of Miss Ruth Mundey, of Wellington, to Mr.' It. V. White, a member of tlio literary staff of The Dominion. The ceremony took place in St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral, and was performed by tho Rev. A. M. Johnson. Mr. Kearney, a confrero of the bridegroom's, gave tho bride away, and at tho conclusion of the servaco Mr. Hellemann, the conductor of the Wellington Choral Society, played the Wedding March.
For the Ramabal Mission. On Saturday a very successful bazaar, organised' by tho Christian Union or tho AVellington Girls' College, in aid of tho l'andiita Ramabai's Mission for Indian AVidows, was opened in the Girls' Collego by the Mayoress) Mrs. J. -P. Luke. A'ery many people were present, and so f attractive and so varied wore fclio goods offered for sale that tho financial results accruing from tho effort must he very satisfactory, judging from outward appearances. Tho bazaar itself was held in the Central Hall, which had been made aglow with colour. Stalls had boon ranged round tlie room, and draped with muslin, lycopodiuni, and coloured festoons, while m tho centre of the room was a charmingly-arranged iiower stall mounted high and hanked with- beautiful flowers aud foliage. In addition to theso stalls for produce, sweets, fancy work, jumble sa-10, fish-ponds, and bran-tubs, all of which were in charge of the Collogs girls, there was a display of Indian gooda "upon the stage. Those wero extremely fascinating, and consisted of beautiful embroidered work, silks, laces', table-covers, kimonos, blouses, tablwumiers, and all manner of things usually coveted, by the heart of woman, cither for her person or for her houso. Tho stalls containing the Indian jewellory and silver and bronzo work continually had a crowd of people around them, and' those in charge were Miss Agnes M'Lean, Miss Newman, Miss Lynoh, and . other members of the Btaff. Tho series of conoerts which were given both in the afternoon and the evening in one of . the class-rooms included a little play, .performed..by a number of girls belonging to Form lIIc. Among tnoso who contributed to the various pro- , grammes were; The Misses, M. and D. Kdmondson, Ngaire Lemon, V. AVaterhouse.M. Betty, M'Donald, H. Jeffery, C. Remington, Thelma Crosby, J. Petnio, Hoby, Smith, E. M'Eldowney, M. Nicholls, Taylor, East, Master Pankhurst, and Mr. AVall. An instrumental quartot also performed. Theso concerts wero organised by a committee of the Old Girls' Association for tho Boys' Institute Pageant, ojml were very successful, the sum of £3 3s. 6d« resulting. Tho modest sum of 3d. was charged for each concert. Mr. Daro, in\another room, gave a moving picture entertainment. Mrs. Urquhart was m charge of tho tea-room, and was assisted by a number of the girls. Tho telcgrap'mo bureau run by some of the girls was not .the least the ventures of tho afternoon. Miss M'Lean, the Principal of the Collego, was among those-present.
A Soolal Cathorlng., The annual social gathering of Kirkcaldio and Stains Mutual Aid Society was held on Friday evening in.the firm's tea rooms, Johnston Street. About 200 members of the staff and thoir friends wero present. Cards were played during the first part of the evening, a feature being a euchre tournament. The successful prize-winners were: Mrs. Roberts and Mr. AVost, Miss Edwards and Mr. Lynch. A Limerick competition had also been 'arranged and the prize was won by Mr. C. Johnston. Mr. J. Kirkcaldie, on bolialf of tho committee, presented tho _ prizes. After supper, which was provided by the tea room staff, the following contributed to an enjoyable programme:—Misses Lissack, Low, Grant, Dixon, and Austis, Messrs. Midgley, Rankin, Walker, ltutter, Devereaux, and Proctor. The accompaniments wero played by Misses Johnston, Colley, and Kutner, and Mr. Sidford. During the progress of the euchro tournament, music war- provided bv a small orchestra consisting of Miss Johnston, Messrs. AA'alker, Moore, M'JCcnzic, and Hay. It added considerably to tho pleasure of tho evening. Messrs. Alcoclt and Cox were M.C/s, and the committee were: Misses Lissack and Low, Messrs. Hogg, Alcock, Sidford, and M'Kcnzie, with Mr. J. H. Burgoyne-Thomas as secretary. 'Iho socioty wil' benefit considerably by the gathering and substantial donations wore received from members of tho firm. Tho rooms were specially suitable for. a function of this kind and the stage was decorated with palms and coloured lights, tho electrical .effects having been 'arranged by Mr. Donnison. An inter-esting-side-show, in tho nature of !an art gallery, was set out by Mr. Rntter.
Mrs. Arthur Hum© has left on a visit to England.
Mrs. Wolsey Turton and Miss Turton Jiavo returned from their visit to Kaiaka Bay.
Dr. Thackor and Mrs. Thacker (Christchruch) have been staying for a few days in Wellington.
Tho Wellington Central W.O.T.U. held their monthly meeting at the Y.M.C.A. rooms last week. Mrs. A. K. Atkinson presided. After the ordinary business tho president gave an address on "Good Reform," and .showed how diet influenced character. Tho speaker's romarks were listened to with much in'tcrest.
Ladies who wish to obtain export advice l-carding their hair and complexions should consult Mrs. Kolleston. Strictest privacy is assured.
Dance at Blenheim. On Friday evening last tiio fourth and last assembly dance was held in St. Patrick's Hull, Blenheim, and proved in every way enjoyable. Excollent musio was supplied by Perry's orchestra and supper was contributed by tho ladies. The tables were decorated with whito and yellow flowers intermingled with green foliage. Among those present woro: Mestlaines D. M'Cnllum, Ilevcll, Bennett, Ball, Clarke, Ilulnie, Walker, Higginson, Dodson, R. Adams, Misses Mead, Horton, Bell, Bunnle, D. Clarke, Penny (2), M'Jvay (2), Haraing, Elbeck, Rapley ( "Wellington), M'Callum, Eeid, and Messrs. Spence, Revell, Goulaing, Hyarns, Mortimore, Reid (2), Paul, and Drs. Borrio and Adams.
Feildlng Notes. Mrs. M'Allum is spending a few days in town before she leaves for England. Sirs. Miles has returned from Marton. Mrs. Wheeler has returned from Wel-
lington. Mrs. Smith (Wanganui), who has been staying with Mrs. Wheeler, has returned to her home. ' Miss Haybittle lias returned from Wellington. Misa Innes-Jones has gone to West, port. ' Mrß. Horrocks ha-8 gone to Nsw Plymouth. Bridg© has been played at Mrs. Hallida.v's, Mrs. Revincton-Jones's, Mrs. Barron's, Sirs. Neill's, and Mrs. Blaxall's.
Miss Spain. has gone to Napier. Mrs. Roberts is staying in Napier. A bulb show was held ill tho Parish Hall on Thursday and Friday, under the auspices of the St. John Ladies' Guild. Tho entries were large, and tha bulbs very beautiful." Mrs. Harris's exhibit of a hundred varieties of primroses and polyanthus was wonderful, far tho best ever seen in Feildiiig. Among those who visited the show were: Mesdames Innes-Jones, Giesen, Halliday, Miles, Gorton, Blaxall, Luxmore, Barton, Sinims. Revington-Jones, Mason, Lawson, Haggitt, Swainson, Barlthrop, Letlibridge, Richmond, and very many others. ,
