OTAKI NOTES.
The monthly mooting of tho Town Board was hold on Thursday. Previous to reading the correspondence a vote of condolence was tendered to tho relatives of tho late Sir. A. W. Sherman, and to Commissioner Meads, who recently lost his wife. It was decided, to insert culverts and effect other improvements in various parts of tho town; to writo to tho_ Minister for Justico relative to securing a Government site lioro for offices; to securo an estimate for lighting tho town with Dreadnought gas; to give permission to W. Vaughan to lay a pipe un--der tho road for gas _ purposes; to movo for an investigation of title m connection with the Native market reserve; and to go into various other matters of detail.
Tho Anglican Church held a bazaar on Thursday afternoon and evening, and cleared nearly £90, which goes towards a fund for building a vicarage. Tho various stalk woto under tho supervision of tho following:—Plain, Mesdames Small and J. Wilson; fanoy, Mesdaines H. Nicholson, J. G. Stevens, and Arthur Bright; sweets, Misses Edwards and AdsettJ Christmas tree, Nurse Lewis; product, Mesdames C.i H. Williams and H. Frooman; refresh*; ments, Mesdamos A- H. Cook and J" R. Bells.
