In the Legislative Assembly, the Minister for Education, Mr. Carmiohael, in moving the second reading of the Civil service Superannuation Bill, explained that the measure was based on a ratefor age contribution. Tho Government would contribute one-half and the employee one-half. Tho scheme would be solr-supporting from the start. The principle underlying the Bill would apply to superannuation for the whole of the peoplo of the State, diould that ever ho brought about. The Government oontribation under the Bill would ba about £130,000 aunually.
